Watching the students, families, and staff having fun at the West Elementary Track and Field Day last week was inspiring. Everyone had fun—especially the kids, but what was also inspiring was seeing so many family members there to support the students, and how engaged the staff were to making the event a success. PE teacher Jeremy Van Engen coordinated the event.
Coach Van Engen, to the right, was the starter for the races. I had a brief conversation with him. He told me how he likes to prepare for the day, and how much he appreciates families coming out to support their students. Here is our brief interview:
Look at that support the students had in the stands! People were lined up all along the fence too.
Northstar had an incredible outdoor day with inflatables.
Third graders Paisley Meador and Rubie Agan told me about why they love the event and their plans for the summer:
On Friday the fifth graders at Northstar ran the halls for their final day at the school. I believe Mr. Keitges told me that it was the 14th year of the activity. I managed to capture it all on the following three videos. Please watch and listen. This is so much fun!
